In addition to professional expertise, soft skills are just as important. For example, the balance between teamwork and independently completing tasks, your willingness to learn and your motivation and values.

How often have you asked yourself this when looking for a job? What are recruiters looking for and what do they pay attention to when we are on the other side of the table?

Here is a list of the most important qualities that recruiters look for and evaluate in applicants.

First of all, a professional is not only about technical skills, but also about human relations. What we look for as recruiters is always a combination of both.

The recruiter will evaluate the following qualities during the interview:

  • Ethics and honesty – this allows a relationship of trust to be established between the recruiter and the candidate, but above all later between the employee and the employer;
  • Flexibility – the candidate must have a good ability to adapt;
  • Teamwork – team spirit is more and more appreciated by companies because now more than ever, work is carried out in structured teams;
  • Independence – companies value someone who is able to remain motivated and work independently;
  • Time management – the applicant must be able to manage their time to effectively manage tasks and priorities;
  • Self-confidence – for the recruiter, an applicant who shows confidence in themselves and their abilities is better able to inspire confidence in those around them;
  • A willingness to learn and develop – today’s job market is constantly evolving and recruiters will appreciate candidates who invest in their education, are open to training and have the ability to pick up new skills;
  • Good communication skills – candidates who get their messages across clearly and effectively are more likely to be chosen in an interview.

We could go on and on… But to stand out, you just need to follow the golden rule of hiring processes: preparation! Know beforehand what the company is looking for, identify the core competencies that match those needs, and make sure you communicate them to the recruiter.
